It came from Scotland.
Proud and mighty clans, the McSnotts and the Boogers feuded for many generations, until one day the daughter of old man Wipeayer Booger, lovely Nell, fell in love with the youngest son of Mary, Queen of Snotts. So legend has it that Nell Booger and Prince Mukas McSnott soon beget a tiny redheaded lad, little Booger, who grew up to be the first physician in the family, forever known as Doctor Booger, Nell"s son of Snottland. About this time, some of the evil Clan Chiefs needed extra wives so they brought in a bunch of sheep. The evil clan leaders then burned the houses and took over all the land, running Doctor Booger, Nell's son, and all the little McSnotts out of their beloved Highlands forever. Sad story. Nothing to sneeze at.

It's just a dumb American word. The real word is 'bogie', as in the 'Bogie Man' or 'I like to pick my nose for bogies and then flick them on children'.

Americans always muck up words, but don't worry about it, we get a laugh at your attempts to form your own language. It's really quite cute.

Addendum for La voix de raison:

Well, I'm Scottish and I can tell you now that your story is full of bogies! ;-)

Why you people have no other question to ask. Ask like how good i am and how can i help others or what i wrong i did and how i am going to correct it or what can i study more or what talent i have and how to upgrade it?

Like comon sense vs nonsense.
