In context, this word seems like a colloquialism which I am mispelling and not "a two-wheeled, self-balancing transportation device."
People oftentimes say, "that idea is a perfect 'segway' for my next topic of discussion," or "that (what you just said) provides the perfect segway into my next topic." Am I spelling it correctly, what does it mean, and where did it come from?
The context seems to indicate that it is meant as a colloquialism and to give it a very general meaning of positive, transitional, leading qualities. What is the real word/colloquialism, and how did it come to be so popular in our dialog.
