The shifting of the five basic gear speeds and one reverse gear speed is mechanical with pneumatic booster. The first gear speed and reverse gear speed are engaged with a gear coupling, the other gear speeds are fitted with fail-safe synchromesh. The shifting of the two optional constant meshes is effected by a synchronised coupling controlled electro-pneumatically, by pre-selector on the gearshift lever. The lubrication of the gearbox is forced, with the help of a gear pump driven by the lay shaft.
