ELCB -

The term "Earth leakage circuit breaker" (ELCB) is often incorrectly used to describe its modern counterpart the "Residual-current device" (RCD). An earth leakage circuit breaker (ELCB) is a device with two earth terminals used to directly detect currents leaking to earth from an installation and cut the power. They were mainly used on TT earthing systems before RCDs became common. They have been almost totally replaced by RCDs (except in very old installations) due to a number of problems.

RCCB -

Residual Current Circuit Breaker. This type of circuit breaker works by comparing the current going in to an appliance with the current coming out. When an appliance is working correctly all of the current entering the appliance through the live wire is returned to the power supply through the neutral wire.

ELCB is the Earth leckage circuit breaker and RCCB is the RResidualCurrent Circuit Breaker. BBasicallyapplication of both are same, i.e. both are used for the Earth Leckage prprevention Working principle of both are difference.

ELCB is actually voltage operated and need a stable connection to earth electrode.

RCCB is actually seeing the difference in the current flowing in and out of the circuit. If there is a leakage, the sensing circuit will detect the leakage and trigger the RCCB to trip
