Earth Leakage Circuit Breakers (ELCB) are electrical devices designed for protection of living beings (humans/animals) against the hazards of electric current. When parts under voltage are touched, the ELCB switches off the current long before any amount of current or duration of current flow can cause damage. Again the sensitivity (mA rating) of ELCBs are designed as per the site/equipment conditions etc.
