I looked in the dictionary to look up the word, "am" I found that it refered to the word, "be." If a sentence requires a subject and a verb, then can one simply state, "I be"?

When my guy called me on the phone last night when he was with his friends. He snuck off to a corner so that no one could hear his conversation & he said that they said he was "caking". I guess that's some kind of slang term.

Does anyone have any idea what it really means when someone saids that someone else is caking?

I know that effect is a noun, and I know that affect is a verb...easy enough, but what happens when both are verbs? Use the words affected, effected, effecting, and affecting in sentences if you could please. thank you very much.

Curse words are just other words for similar words...they have no negative meaning in themselves. It is just what definitions people hear and superstition.

I think its quite simple to use, however, most of Yahoo's users prefer misspellings. We will not even mention the gramatical errors.

And why is it "twelve" and not "twoteen"? Also, once you do get into the teens, it's "thirteen" instead of "threeteen", and "fifteen" instead of "fiveteen"?

Margaret Atwood's Poem "You fit into me"
You fit into me
like a hook into an eye
a fish hook
an open eye

Can anybody explain to me more on this poem other than what I already have…

Magaret Antwood’s poem is short and simple. This amplifies the title “You fit into me”. The poem is fit for its title when it is short and sweet like it is.
She repeats “hook” and “eye” in the poem because that is what she means when she says “you fit into me. She explains how, and then you realise that is al she needs te say. She needs not explain it further because that is how it ‘fits’.

The reader of the poem can also give notice to the word “...fit...” in the first line and then to the shortness (smallness?) of the poem. ‘Fit’ is also asociated with the word ‘size’. Because big or small it has to fit.
The poem might of been written this short to make more of an impact and a stronger statement. One can memorize it just by reading it once. This is the impact it has on

Like when you explain something, and say "To ... means to ask someone if THEY want to...".
Or, can I say "I have to ask a person if THEY want..."?
I'm asking this because it sounds funny to say "they" when you're talking about just one person.
I always said him/her instead of they, but my English isn't so good.
Could you please explain to me, and give examples? Thank you very much!!
