mum = mom
liaise = liase
er, hang on let me think of some more
colour = color
favour = favor
er, I'm sure there's more but that's all for now.
But if we share a common language, why are we spelling some words differently?
Come on, you Yanks, tell us what the real reason is.

I have just queued in our local Post Office, and the other queues were going faster. However, the moron in front of me had decided to pay several bills using a mixture of cash and cheques and couldn't count anyway, so I was tutting and tapping my feet behind her willing her to get a move on.
But, this seems to happen a lot. If I'm in a motorway queue, it's the other lanes that seem to move faster. I join a short supermarket checkout but the others seem to whizz ahead of me.
So, is this paranoia (why me?) or is there another reason that you can think of?
Does anyone care???

I picked up this phrase in the late 80's from a friend. It just struck me as so funny -- I mean, something must be very scary to make pancakes scary.

But I wonder now.... where in the world did the phrase originate? I can no longer ask that friend as we're no longer in contact.

Anyone out there have any clue??? Do tell!

I recently was at work and told a coworker that the wire to a device was "plugged out" and that seemed to cause her to have a fit lol. So now I am trying to see if its really that far out there? Cause I have used the term for a long time, I mean I know the word "unplugged" but I never knew that unplugged was SO FAR out there? So I wanted to ask you guys on here.
