Special Education

I'm looking for ideas to get my autistic son's hair cut! We've been to several places and he kicks, screams, and flips out! We can only get him a haircut every 3 months because it is so difficult. We live in Fresno, CA and were wondering if their is a person/place we could contact to get help/resources in our area? Are their any techniques we could use? PLEASE HELP!!!

Some Indiana teachers seem to me that they are not qualified to understand that a child with behavior problems could also indicate that, that child may have some kind of mental disorder. I was just wondering if the teachers were trained well enough to evaluate a child with such problem.

We have a student who has an educational advocate (a lawyer). We scheduled an MDT meeting and held it, with the parent's participation. The advocate is very unhappy. Is it the school's responsibility to schedule the advocate's participation, or the parent's? We do not have it in writing that all meetings should be scheduled throught the advocate.

i am a serving army offr. i intend putting my son in vth class in a mioitary school to enable him to join NDA and or any of the services in the forces. it should also be able to groom him for joining any civil stream after 12th.
although i have done surfing on the net of all the mil schools, pl advise.
will putting him in mil school harm his attitude in any ways.

it is not right that people with special needs end up
getting a certificate of completion because they can
not pass the GQE test , people with special needs can
not learn at that level and it is not there fault that
they are the way they are and nobody was not planning
on be disabled. certificate of completion can't help
someone get to college because i know, i check about
all this, ivy tech said the you have to have a ged or
high school diploma so you know something we can't get
to college with that and what if you was mildly
mentally disabled and you had to have a certificate
of completion and you did not have a choice, i think
the law really sucks. And how I know about all this
stuff is because I am mildly mentally disabled and I got certificate of completion and I am never going to get to go to college because of this law. I think everybody should recieve a diploma and they should have different set of rules for people with special needs. I wish that I could of got a

I would like to know what type of professional can diagnose dyslexia. I have been told that an Audiologist can diagnose the APD.
