Spell check is when you have typed a document or paper or such. You just click on spell check and it shows you the words and puncuation you have spelled or placed incorrectly. Then it gives you the option of changing it or ignoring it. Sometimes with last names and such it says they are spelled wrong but really they aren't. So its really a neat tool to have when you have things that are to be graded for things so specific as that.
