Ok, so I have a list of serial numbers in one column, the first one or two numbers of every serial relate to information on another page; every serial number starting with 2 is a certain type of truck, every serial number starting with 16 is another type of truck. (EX: 16483 = 16, 2005 = 2). I just want the lookup to match the first one or two digits of hte cell value to the lookup information.

My formula looks like:

=IF(ISERROR(VLOOKUP(J2,Sheet1!$G$10:$J$28,3,FALSE)),"",VLOOKUP(J2,Sheet1!$G$10:$J$28,3,FALSE)*(Sheet2!F2))

I haven't been able to successfully use a wildcard to pick these up. Can anyone help?

I don't want to become a C programmer, but remember enjoying the structured yet fairly comprehensible syntax of Pascal. What choices are available today - the ability to code for Windows and preferably other GUI/OSs a must.

As an aside, if one was to go back to basics with an old copy of Borland Turbo Pascal 5.x, would it be feasible and practicable to write code that makes use of the Windows API?

I sell plants online and would like to write out some instructions for my customers so that I can save time on answering their questions. So I'm thinking of writing a 20-30 page ebook that will cover all of my products.

I'd like to type it up in word so that no one will have a problem opening it but I am scared about copywriting. Is there a way I can set it so they can only read it and not copy and paste any of it?

Ok i have my Access data base, i need to print some labels, but not from all the data base.

I need to extract my Client ID and Post Code and Company phone number which i could bo by their ID number , but how ???

Can i do a search just on my client ID number only , but i need various numbers not just 1 to 100 so example

i'm trying to create a program that will tell whether a string of characters is a palindrome. how could i assign the characters so that the first letter will equal the last letter and the 2nd will equal the 2nd to last and so on? if anyone knows how and could provide an example, that would be awesome.

I'm asking how can one know that a new core banking system is stable or ready for production or ready for go live?

My bank bought an overseas core banking system for its muli-functional capabilites. My company has worked extgensively with the vendor to ensure it works. But we keep finding minor showstopper defects, such as in overdrafts not working in all cases.

My question is how will my company know when we're ready to go live on the new system? We're doing SIT, UAT, etc... but not testing in parallel. And not obtaining sign-off by a third party.

Has anyone gone thru a core conversion before? Where you've custom-built the core & many of the 3rd-party systems? If so, how do u know when you're ready to go live?

In a batch file, how do i use user input?

how do i use user input using %1, %2 etc from the running bat file, not from the actual file itself, and how do i loop the batch file a set number of times?

How do i make it show something like:

How many times would you like to run this command?:

then it loops the number of times told.
