I know a lot of good sites to learn HTML, however, I would (if I was you), go elsewhere first.
WHERE?
I'm glad you asked, it is a fine place where much can be learned, the LIBRARY.
WHY?
You're full of questions today huh?
You will find good beginners books on HTML and then decide if you wish to pursue it further.
FYI: You can type a normal letter using Word or Open Office Writer, (from Open Office.org, download it, it's worth it), and save the letter as HTML, (filename.html), then copy and paste it to where you want and the browser will show you how it turned out. The original letter can then be edited to include whatever you wish.
To make an impressive page (site) on MySpace, there would be quite a learning curve so get some knowledge first, you won't regret it.
;-)

WebMonkey is not too bad just a bit outdated. Your probably better off just getting a WYSIWYG editor and working a split view so you can see the code. Another way to learn it is by viewing source of other peoples code and trying to understand it it is not that hard to learn HTML or XHTML
