Programming & Design - January 2007

I took a jpg, spent about 3 hours erasing around an object, (which means that the background should be gone), and getting it just right. Now I want to color the object black, to create a silhoette (SP?) but when I try to draw or paint it, the program allows me to color outside the lines. Is there anything I can do, besides carefully coloring the image I have?

Im trying to add these smilies to my forums but the administrator says they'r too big, and he would add them if I can give him some smaller ones.

Does anybody know anyway to make these smilies smaller?

I have an older version of Java 1.4.2_06 and I have installed 1.4.2_10, but my pc kept reading _06 as my java program.
i typed in java -version, and 06 keeps appearing

How can i make it recognize 1.4.2_10?

I am in need of solutions to exercises given in the C Programming Language written by K&R (Kernighan and Ritchie).
Where can i find those solutions?
At least some algorithm or some approach to arrive at the solution to them would be helpful.

Please help

I am an accountant for an import house

But manual system is in use even today

I want MS access to organise my Import data

But under one B L which is the basis of Import file I have many containers with different sizes 20ft and 40ft and with different articles in

But access for the field of Container id I have created accepts one id only and relevant size

In design form I tried using tabular form putting all the unique fields in header portion .

But the data entry field only for the fields containerid , container size and container contents was put in details part

But when I started entering the container details the records gets automatically replaced with the container details in last record !!!

PLEASE HELP ME OUT

i have downloaded what i understand to be a rip of a dvd, dont worry it isn't an illegal copy.

However it consists of 93 Winrar files, one sfv file, and one msinfo document,

What do i need to do to burn these on to a dvd to watch, i have the software etc and i have extract 1 file which then creates a IMG file it is not an drawing or photograph and its file sixe is 4.5 gig before unzipped it was only 45mb any ideas

What is the concept behind designing menus with icons in vb.net? I know it has to do with something called owner drawing, but what exactly is that?

By delay, I mean I won't be doing anything while I wait. I need the delay to be able to count small delays of a few milliseconds accurately. IF at all possible it would be great to have the code compatible with the old 8088 and 8086 machines. Some example code (in assembly) as to how it works would be great. Thanks for everyone's help.
