For example, I find Motley Fool.com has some disucssion boards in investment areas. But at the same time, I also find some that seem not be professional. Your advice is appreciated.

i asked a question about futures, options, and shorting earlier, and i just want some clarification.

with an option, you can buy or sell the stock, but if u dont you loose the money you payed when you signed the contract. With a future, you have to buy/sell the asset at a certain point, and loose/gain money depending on which direction the stock market went. Correct? but can u buy a future on an option, or is that the same thing as shorting? and can u buy an option on a future? or is that shorting also?

Hi, i have not been able to find any good and thorough information on options. I was wondering if someone could tell me what Open interest is, how the whole option cycle thing works, what the net on the option quote means, and this is unrelated to options, but what is mark-to-market accounting
? like i'm getting millions of different definitions of it an it doesn't make sense because they said that Enron did this.

I'm thirteen years old, I'm planning on buying my own clothes. My mom is the only one that works, since my dad is in the hospital. She doesn't get paid that well. She works at a store as a cashier. I don't wanna make her buy me stuff, since that would make me feel bad aswell since she's already getting me UGG boots. I need the money for my jacket (which is 100 dollars) and my curling iron (another 100 dollars). But, if you guys know any curling irons that are ceramic and less than 100, do tell. But other than that, I need a way to find some cash. Should I work at the store for 5 dollars an our sat-sun? She also has to pay for my sidekick plan (20 dollars a month). And yeah.. soo.. suggestions?

I was looking into INGDirect.com, because I already have a savings with them. However, when I was reading the details, I noticed that they note they are not FDIC insured. What does that mean? They mention it in a few places, and I am wondering if I should go with another back who IS FDIC insured?

A textbook excerpt:

Traders make money by selling high and buying low to maximize spread. (Easy to understand.) The salesperson has a different incentive. The total return on the trade determines the money a salesperson makes, so he wants the trader to sell at a low price. (Why?)
