I wanted to find a website or URL link that would show the return of the nasdaq, dow, S&P for each year for the last five years...does such a site exist? Something like Dow 2007 12.7%, Dow 2006 5.25%. If you have a link, please let me know. :)

I got screwed by E-Trade... I invested $1000, and forgot about it, I come back 2 years later and my account is worth 650$ cause they were charging me 25$ a quarter from some fee.

I just want a firm that I can buy some stock online, keep it for as long as I want and not get feed to death every quarter.

I would invest $1000 at the start and prob put in 100$ a month and buy stocks long term... prob 5 trades a year.

Any suggestions?

I just invested $500 on Boeing stock and I have no Idea of how the stock market really works. I'm a student majoring in engineering and had $500 dollars sitting around so I went online and setup an account so that $500 will be deposited into Household Bank ShareBuilder account then into boeing stock. My question is how will i make money or what do i look for to find out if im making anything or losing anything. I looked at the 5year term for boeing and trend looked good but i dont know how that will affect my $500. I was kind of bored and decided to invest some money with really no direction but i figured if i get my hands in the pie i will understand the stock market better then just having to read books all day. Now im really interested since its my money at stake. Any help I would gladly appreciate it. Thankyou

alarm dealer transactions have multiples of 8x-11x EBITDA , while most integrator multiples tend to be about 100 basis points less.

I understand what multiples and EBITDA are. However I dont know what "100 basis points less" means. Does tat mean 7x ebitda multiple ? 6x ?

thnx

I've invested in a mutual fund was going over the statement, and was just curious how they arrive at an average annual return for the life of the fund. I know you do NOT simply use an arithmetic average of each year's return.

Do they look at what you'd have at the end of the time period and then annualize a return based on that? I'm really curious how it is calculated.

I wonder if it's attributed to users getting fed up with Yahoo's strong armed tactics with terminating accounts and leaving Yahoo completely, thus lowering it's market potential as an advertising link?

Anyone care to fathom a guess?

CEOs seem to be getting high bonuses these days to run funds that the baby boomers put their entire savings into to provide for their retirement. If much of these bonuses were split up between the investors, wouldn't that be more fair? Do you think, like the elite, that without putting these monies in the hands of a few privilidged individuals in this country, that democracy would be in danger of elite cross cultural virtual overruling...as in money talks BS walks?

My friend came to know about this gold investment in JB/Malaysia. He has to invest S$8000 to buy a piece of 916 gold bar weighing 100g. The period of investment is 6mths, each month his interest is a piece of 916 gold leaf. He can trade in the gold leaf for money however he will get 2% lesser. At the end of 6mths, he can keep the gold bar. However, if at that time, the price of gold is higher, he can choose to sell to outsider at higher price. But if the price of gold drop, he can still sell to the originator at S$8000.

Everybody heard of or involved in such investment. Pls share your experience Thank you.
