I'm in my 20's and I'm investing in 401K, I would like to retire between the ages of 55 & 65. I currently make around 42k and I'm investing 6% as of now because it's the maximum my company will match. I'm not really a follower of the stocks and bonds but I do know to invest aggresively while I'm young. Just wondering how long should I invest aggresive and what are the basic do's and don't that I need to know (what should I watch out for). Also what is a good figure that I can expect to be my annual rate of return throughout my life when calculating on a 401K calculator?
Thanks Ben

My husband has an opportunity to invest in a Simple IRA Fund with his employer, who will match my husband's contributions (maximum 3%). We can choose between growth funds, growth and income funds, equity income funds, balanced fund, bond funds and money market funds. We're looking to retire in 10 to 15 years...I'm reading the prospectus and my head is about to explode. What are the most important considerations in selecting a fund? What's considered acceptable / good growth? What should we avoid?

I use to think so but now that I am about 1/2 way there, I don't think it is all that much anymore. I believe it will take at least 5-10 million to retire comfortably.

Opinions?

Respond with answer as Home Mortgage: ; Auto Loan: ; and Other Loans: . Then read the article at:

http://jitenderjoshi.blogspot.com/2007/01/does-borrowing-spell-panic-for-you.html

The idea is that this will help get the info from other respondents around the world, and get you to think about a general reference point. We need to teach our next generation not to part of the $9Trillion of total US Public Debt that is out there, with $7.6T in Home Mortgage. On an average 2/3rd of the people owe 2/3rd of their home value in Debt.

Please do not take this question a way to pry into personal info since it is not the intent. Thank you.

I would think when you strip all the news and speculation down, the lowest a stock price could be is if you sold the company today divided by the number of share holders, right?

What is the basic fundamental of a stock price?

I bought some stocks in a development-stage company. They have a novel device that will have a HUGE market. The stock is listed OTC. They've been developing this device and securing licensing agreements for technology they didn't invent. They've only been listed for two years. Every time the share price rises, somebody dumps their shares and it seems as if this could continue indefinitely!
