Has anyone used marsco.com to trade stocks? How do you compare it with sharebuilder? what is the min balance needed for marsco? Can I keep some of the amount as cash and rest in stocks to meet the min balance criteria? What are other online brokers that charge low trading fees?

I have a Scotttrade account and was considering investing about $20-30K in one or two stocks at any one time. I might be able to stay out of daytrading status.

...But I was wondering if selling a stock on average every 3-4 days at a stock price increase of around 10%, if it is an acceptible profit?

All that would be lost is the $7 trade fee, and maybe 30-40% for taxes. That would leave about $1200 in profit for 3-4 days investing right? or is this way to simple in theory?

It is after tax money, so what does the IRS care? Doesn't the 5 year rule apply to earnings only?

Ok, I'm starting a new job, and I have to set up my 401K. I remember taking a finance class in college, and the instructor told me that there was a formula, based on age, to determine where you should put your money. You put so much in high risk, so much in low risk, and so much in between, and then you change it slowly as you age. The problem is, I can't remember that formula. Can anyone help?
