Many landline phones & all mobiles in the UK also have the alphabet on their keypads, but it just hasn't caught on over here. I'm not really surprised as I don't really have a problem writing the number down if I am genuinely interested in their product/service + nowadays you just need to remember the company's web address instead and get their phone number from the web.
The most we do is use easy to remember free-phone numbers like 0800 663366
Comments? Would the US approach make you any more likely to contact them to buy something?
Is the US approach loosing popularity now that most company's have web addresses?

I want to do marketing copyediting and copywriting in a corporate marketing department. My interests are travel and tourism, multicultural communications (although I'm not fluent in anything but English), health care, or fun consumer products like toys. I'm not interested in the entertainment industry and I don't want to work in the ego-ridden atmosphere of an advertising agency. Got any ideas? Thanks for your help. I really need some suggestions.

The purpose of my search is to stay current on what some specific businesses are doing. It is not an industry that is typically tracked by national press or even regional press, so general search, even with some pretty specific targeting, is not working. Eg - if I want to buy 5 litres at 96.99p it would cost £4.84p.95. This does not exist as currency. Would it be rounded to £4.84 or £4.85? How can this be legal practice? Does any other item retail at a fraction of a penny?
