Word of mouth is a good option. Besides that, a lot of websites these days allow you to post free Ad's on their Site. Blogging is a good idea, but again you need to advertise that as well, so that really doesnt work.
Craigslist.com is a good place where you can do it for free. Also Sulekha.com is a good place too.

Not sure if it is free, but VRBO.com is a great site. Even if it isn't free, it might be money well spent given the exposure you'll get.
