I want to breath new life into my old, floor-length prom gown by turning it into a dress I can wear at, say, semi-formal events, dressy casual parites, and upscale dinner restaurants.

It is fairly minimalistic with no silly frills or bows to remove and an empire or natural waist (I'm not good with classifying these). So I was thinking about just cutting it short. But to where do I hem it? Knee length, x inches above the knee, x inches below the knee?

Any ideas or links to helpful webpages would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am a new mom that has a hard time finding cute fabric head bands for my baby (3 mths). I decided to start creating my own. Now I have other people that are interested and will buy from me. I am also going to be a vendor at a craft show in the fall where I can sell them.

My problem is that I cannot find an easy way to create these. How do I get them to fit ? I know circumference of babies head based on how old. However, I cannot seem to be able to sew fabric on elestic so that they fit right. Some come out too small and others too big.

I would like to make both "smooth" fabric ones and "bunched" fabric. Maybe I am using the wrong fabric?

Anyone know a good pattern or have any ideas???

I'm a junior in college, just transferred to upstate NY! I used to live in the south, so I don't have many winter clothes. I was told it snows from nov-feb, so i need something warm and functional, but still flows with my style (kinda preppy, also i'm petite). I was thinking of a peacoat...is that still in style? I saw it was very popular last year... your opinion of peacoat? other suggestions?

I've got, softball, complimentary sports tournament, retro, comedic, tv/movie, and beer ones. Such good memories with each shirt! They are taking up too much room in my closet and my wife wants me to get rid of a lot of them. What should I do?
