What are the reasons you wear an open bottom girdle or regular bottom girdle?

I've never worn one. But I guess it pulls your body together..makes it look more firm..and so makes those who wear it feel so good and slim. I guess it'd feel good wearing it under a tight skirt to work? hmm..
