I'm related to a REALLY BAD person. This person was a Nazi (SS) and fled to S. America. I want to do research but I am really concerned about people not understanding my family's past. Is there nothing I can do without being judged? And no, I'm not saying who even if you guess right :P

I dont want any info about what happened to John Wilkes Booth, or about his funeral.

I need to know how his assassination effected the people.
I need some more info about things like Andrew Johnson took over and he had no wish to help or protect ex-slaves.

Please and thank you!

Almost daily: Hitler killed 6 million Jews: Stalin killed many of million Russians:etc.: Actually, in great likely hood, they killed no one. Where as we blame no one for the muders of the French Revolution: The Spanish Inqusition: Custer at Wasepa:
Wounded Knee: Sand Creek ? Did Andrew Jackson murder anyone during the Trail of Tears ?......How are we able to justify the inhumane acts of thousands and attribute them to a single individual on a selective basis ?

I've been reading alot about ancient history this past year and I have a question regarding the people of North and South America. I've tried to do research on this, but with no luck.
Everytime I read about Rome, Persia, ect I wonder what was going on on the other continent.
I want to know why the people of North and South America didn't "progress" like the people in Eurpoe and Asia did.
I don't mean any offense to anyone, because I am 1/2 native american myself, BUT
What were these people doing? What was holding them back?
They were advanced in some ways, but nothing like Rome.

I'm sure there is a simple answer to this, but I can't figure it out.

Until 1830, the Cherokees had done more to adjust to European Americans expectations than any other group of Indians. Describe the Cherokee attempts to accommodate attempts to remove them from their ancestral homes and explain why they were doomed to failure in a nation that described the Cherokees as a “civilized” tribe.
