Actually you are wrong...there were other peoples that were used as slaves....the various Native peoples...so when the Spanish and Portuguese (and others) conquered the new world, they enslaved the indian population first...but what happened was that much of the indigenous population was destroyed by European disease, overwork, or straight murder/genocide. It was when they began dying off that Europeans began importing black slaves into the new world..so black slaves came afterward...
In my opinion, the reason african slaves were used was because of geography and timing in history...first of all, many of the European colonies were located in Africa and they offered the most direct link to the america....being in the southern hemisphere and on the Atlantic...but secondly, I think at this point in history the Asian peoples were stronger, more unified... you couldn't simply conquer China and enslave its peoples...it was too big...and the African empires at this time were in collapse...the Europeans caught the africans at the nadir of the cycle of empires...
But notice once the slave trade was banned and slavery became illegal, the Europeans began recruiting others as indentured slaves or wage slaves...so that's when you have migrations of poor south asians to the new world and also the "coolies " from China (China now having succumbed to western power thanks to the British)...

Well I think of that issue a little bit differently than you do. Peoples of all nations have been slaves to one another whether it was the Israelites to the Egyptians; or the foreign captives in the Roman Empire to the Romans, for hundreds of years.
Slavery then is as old as mankind. In the time frame you speak of Africa was just another source to get slaves. They did not realize they were breaking apart African communities or families. Perhaps you know that some African tribal leaders even allowed the slave traders to choose members within his own tribe. So the evil one was not just the foreigner but the leader of the tribe.

Arabs still enslave people. You just don't hear about it in national news.
African tribes would routinely raid one another and kidnap children and young adults. These were sold to Arab traders. When the Dutch started trade routes into the sub-Sahara ports on the Atlantic side, the slaves were sold and used wherever there was a market.
Unfortunately for the USA today, there was a market for slaves here. More slaves were taken to South America, especially Brazil, for agricultural usage than America.

Due to a variety of odd circumstances - - - often it was a matter of stronger more powerful African tribes kicking b@tt over weaker tribes and then offering up the captives as slaves.
There was this dubious theory that actually persisted into the 20th Century that in hot humid places such as the Caribbean and the American South that only 'blacks' would do - - - so Africans were targeted - - - later in America it became a racial matter as Christian Ministers proclaimed blacks to be inferior beings and that by enslaving them somehow white people were doing them a great service, 'saving them' from the plight of living in 'primitive Africa' by providing them with industrious work & nutrious food and shelter.
Actually the Arabs enslaved people of all races - - - just as important to note that by becoming good Muslims slaves could earn their freedome. Americans expected their slaves to be good Christians but that didn't mean freeing them!
Peace.....

they did not specifically choose africans as a source of slaves. slaves were of all races, what mattered was the simplicity of transport and the chances of meeting organised resistance.
Once good, fast ships were available, trans atlantic slave trade became a viable option for the Americas market. Ships were also used to ship slaves from the East coast of Africa to China.
Ships were also used by arabs to raid southern Europe (Barbary pirates) and snatch slaves for the north African/Turkish markets. getting large numbers of africans from below the Sahara to turkey was not economically viable (except for Sudan area) since too many died crossing the desert
Turkey usually used the Tartars as slave providers, raiding deep into Europe and the Caucasus mountains
Continental europe did away with slavery for religious reasons (Christianity)

There was a market, courtesy of the Moorish Slave trade. Irish and Chinese immigrants were also virtually enslaved, although that is not talked about as readily. Indentured servitude often turned into slavery, and prostitution was a particularly sinister form of slavery that was very common among young women who were trying to get to America. There was a tradition of slavery among tribal communities, although it was far different than the form practiced by Europeans.

In Africa the tribes would kidnap other people from differnet tribes and make them work on their land, but they only worked there for so long, they treated the workers really nice. But when Europeans and the other people came they thought that if there own race could do it then they can do it to the Africans. Thats how it all started, then it began to grow into racism.

It's because black people are more resistant to hard work and tough conditions. They can bear the sun heat more than European, Arabian and Asian people.
It's not a racist point of view but a genetics point of view. Africa is a pretty hot region so maybe that's why these empires chose africans because they saw that African people can bear sun heat, because of their skin and because of the region they live. Still that doesn't justify slavery. All human beings are free and are the same, there's no "better" race. We all have the same rights.

Irregardless of shade there have been slaves in that factor. Bilal, the 1st guy who introduced the call to prayer, became a black guy from Africa a former slave. he's a nicely time-honored and enjoyed companion of the prophet. Muhammeds (pbuh) accompanied son became a slave, Zayd is his call, he became an Arab slave. The seventh man or woman to settle for Islam became an African slave, her call is Sumayya. Salman, a Persian became an early convert to Islam, became additionally a slave. Slavery became nicely practiced interior the midsection East, Africa, Europe and maximum of the worldwide basically before the revelation of the Quran. it is documented in history at the same time with biblical history. What have been the Jews initially to the Egyptians??? in greater moderen history many Muslims have been offered into the slave commerce and ended up right here interior the U. S. as slaves. thinking Muhammed lived interior the late 500's by using 632 C.E. i do no longer think of your argument holds lots. Slavery keeps in many areas of the worldwide, nevertheless maximum folk of the worldwide isn't Muslim. It became no longer Christianity or Judaism or maybe Islam that began to eliminate slavery interior the western worldwide. teach your self. once you do no longer it makes you seem silly. Weasel, 1967 (actually it became 1962, you're 5 years off) is over one thousand years after Muhammed, cutting-edge-day Saudi Arabia has little to do with him and in maximum circumstances little to do with how Islam became practiced on the time or would desire to be practiced now. lower back you seem silly given which you do no longer teach your self. Islam does would not inspire slavery yet gave a collection of policies to it while it became in use. i'm confident you're actually not attentive to this due on your man or woman bias, yet perhaps you will study sometime. Islam is largely damaging to the considered racism, so the difficulty of there being black slaves is not greater foremost than that of the arab, persian or white slaves that existed contained in the time of Muhammed (pbuh). As for slavery it became inspired that slaves have been dealt with particularly, as part of the human race and inspired that they might desire to be freed as part of repentence to sin. verify out right here to check greater.
