I reviewed many sources but school (private, public, and home school) books ignore (for the most part) everything that happened. And a lot happened there. The only sources are the wikipedia and different encyclopaedias (Mostly online). Or am I wrong, if so where would be a good place to find this information?

I saw a documentary which showed revolutionary New Yorkers demolishing a statue of George III. This made me wonder if any similar statues have survived, maybe in places like Williamsburg. I imagine not, but in other ex-colonies which were happy to be free of British rule, like Ireland and India, a few such statues have managed to survive. Do any Americans here know of any?

I remember learning in school about a woman who during the revolutionary war (or maybe it was the civil, I'm not sure but it was a war in the U.S along time ago) took over the cannons whenever all of the soldiers were dead or injured. I also believe before this occurred she was going around with a pitcher of water giving it to the wounded/tired soilders. I think she also has a nickname that has something to do with a water pitcher. Any thoughts would be appreciated as my husband is an artillary man in the US Army and this would be something close to out hearts as she showed great strength and bravery to do such a thing. Maybe we will name our first girl after her :o)

History project. I'm trying to work out the best method of attack through a canyon. You have three times as many men, but they've already set up 1000 archers on the sides of the canyons on the top of cliffs.

I've met some scottish and irish people in my time, and they hate us! Because of something that happened yonks ago! They can't seriously be mad because I live on a certain part of land and have a different language. What did I ever do to them? What did the rest of England ever do to them? I admit, we had some evil kings and queens that started battles and such, but just cause we won doesn't mean you have to call us names. I think countries that hate other countries because of history should just get over themselves.
