History (Arts & Humanities) - November 2006

I have heard that sometime shortly after the Revolutionary War, North Carolina claimed all of the lands west of it's borders all the way to the Pacific Ocean (within its' northern and southern latitudes). Was this claim ever ratified or accepted. What became of this claim? So was California at one time part of North Carolina? I read this information in a book entitled "Trail of Tears" which is an account of the transferring of the Cherrokee Indian Nation from the eastern states to Nebraska.

Very old Bible/Psalms/ signed Possibly by Franklin D Roosevelt & 2 pairs 75yo baby shoes?

I have a small New Testament Psalms that appears to be signed by Franklin D Roosevelt as Commader-in Chief from the White House in on Jan. 25th 1941.I will have this authenticated.But I am not sure if it is a true version fsigned by him. It was given to the the Armed Forces with a small appreciation notice printed by the company who put these togehter. There is no print date, but it was given to my Dad. Does anyone know if there is any value to this? Also enclosed in this package that I got from my stepmother are 2 pairs of little baby shoes, very old ,(made of leather and very soft feeling. I do knoe the age of these becasue they were my Daddys.
I would say about 75 years old ). I am assuming they were Dads. They are faded white leather and Daddy must have walked a lot as little as those shoes are, but I am not sure what to do with them/ Any suggestions?

what things would happen if a govt supertaxed 90% of ppl 90%-99.9%, the next 9% of ppl 0%-90%, and gave...????

the takings to the remaining 1%, unequally, so that the 1% got from 1 times to a million times what they were getting before?

this is supertaxing on top of ordinary taxes

in other words, playing merry heck with people's incomes and wealth, making incomes range from a 1000th of what they were getting paid before, to a million times what they were getting before - with 90% getting less than a 10th for the same work, 99% getting less than what they were getting before, and 1% getting, for the same work, up to a million times what they were getting before

what would this do to society? imagine aliens took over and did this - what are all the things you can imagine happening? [the aliens are unattackable]
