I know that according to tradition he posted them October 31, 1517 but he actually wrote a letter to a friend that day. I'm curious as to the veracity of this fact.

I had always assumed that Hancock was of English ancestry, until I found out that I happen to be related to him.. My family is largely of Irish descent and I was told previously that we "weren't English at all!".

So, if Hancock's lineage was from England, then apparently I'm just dealing with politics in the family(?)!. LOL.

Thank you :>

Why do the spelling Nazis find it necessary to patrol this site correcting everyone on their mistakes? It's one thing if you use one word instead of another, like meet and meat, but when its a spelling error like dejavu, which you cannot add the proper punctuation any way, why do you feel it is necessary to be so anal? Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't there better venues to dish out your lack of acceptance of the imperfections of man?

I find it absolutly appalling that Archeologists are allowed to dig up the remains ( desicrate ) of Celtic burials and destroy the peace that that person has had for 2000-3000 years. To then bag the bits of bone up and but it in a box on a shelf or worse still to start disolving parts to see how old they are.

There is a Romaneo/Greek Temple in Greenwich Park dug up by Webster in 1903. The contents are clearly listed. During the 2nd world war the Artifacts including 300 Roman coins were stored in Charlton House Basement. In 1964 a request was made by an eminent scholar to see them but they had disapeared. Does anyone out there know where they went or where they are. Its a long shot but surly someone must know.

Alright, so I'm writing a paper, and you Yahoo! people are so smart... I wanted to bounce some ideas off of you.
So if you would be so kind, please argue with, or agree with and elaborate on the following claim:

The traits that caused Joan of Arc to become so powerful, overconfidence, femininity, and an overpowering belief in her God, were the same characteristics that led her to be captured and eventually killed.

That would help me so much... Thanks!
