Quo Vadis is the name of a novel which relates about the life of a noble roman woman converted to christianism and about his slave. Anyway, the book is about the times of the Christian persecution in the times of Nero. it is a very beautiful story.
The frase "Quo Vadis" means where are you going. and it was asked to christ by Peter as he was leaving rome urged to flee by the Christian community...on the way out of Rome Peter saw Christ coming towards him on the road and aksed: Quo vadis Domine?, where are you going Lord?

"To die for my sons in Rome, because you would not, Christ said.

So Peter came back and confronted Nero in the Colosseum, Peter then was crucified upside down because Nero didn't judge him wirthy of being killed like his master. On his way to his crucifiction St Peter told to the city of Rome in a loud voice: "You capital of Sin, will be a capital of God, and you temples that now adore idols...will become temples to Christ. You Rome, that now are the capital of Idolatry will become the capital of Christianity!"

There.

Quo vadis is a Latin phrase meaning "Whither goest thou?" or "Where are you going?". It is used as a proverbial phrase from the Bible (John 16:5). The most famous use is in the Apocryphal Acts of Peter

Hope this helps
