I was contemplating taking the african american ancestry dna test and I was wondering if it was a valid way to trace your heritage. People are so crooked now a days and well....I just don't want to end up wasting $300 on bogus results. I really feel the need to know more about my ancestors and exactly where they originated. Please help, if you can. Thanks.

According to the Blood Quantum Laws as well as the Eastern Cherokee Bands rules, I would have to be 1/32 Native American to register. I am, but I searched the Dawes, Guion, Banker, and a few other rolls and wasn't able to find my ancestor's name, which is another requirement.
Their names were John Napoleon Hawkins and his daughter Nora Hawkins Lord, if that helps anyone's answer.
Is there an alternative way to prove ancestry? Would it on my great grandmother's birth certificate?

I am looking for any family member of the late Charles Schoos.
At the time of his death (1985) he was living in the greater Los Angeles area. He used to work at the Los Angeles Times, and enjoyed golfing. If you knew him, or know anyone who knew him or his family please e-mail me. Thank you so much.

I am just beginning to explore my family tree and I thought someone out there might know. I am distant from my fathers side of the family, so I can't just get an answer from them. Any suggestions?

I'm just curious to see if the decendents of the men who founded the United States are aware of their family history, if they embrace it, if it's made them rich or miserable, or whatever. Knowing so very little about my own family history, this subject fascinates me

I am searching for any information on these three people, they are my husbands birth parents and sister. He was placed for adoption in 1961-63, removed by DHS as was Sandra, He has no memories of her. I was born in Purcell, Oklahoma. They married in Louisiana I believe, lived in Oklahoma and Texas. He was removed by DHS in Cleveland County, Oklahoma. Birth name was Terry Wade Cole, adopted by loving parents in 1963 at age 5. We believe the removal was in 1961 or 1962, it was for neglect. We once were told that James still lived in Oklahoma.

I know it may sound odd, but I was wondering that if you are born without an Appendix then does that mean you are more evolutionarily advanced then people who are born with one?
Plus I was wondering if hairy people (Pete Sampras Hairy) are closer related to Neanderthal man?
