Nani being my first name, I have done a lot of research. But one translation that no one really uses is sword holder. It can mean tons of different things, but I like this translation. The Hawaiians also use the word babi to describe god as amazing perfect wonderful and giving

Before I begin let me congratulate everyone for looking high and low for the definition of "nani" and giving intelligent answers. My familiarity with this word is limited to Japanese "what". In colloquial US slang.........Nani is another name for the "monkey", "the deadliest catch", "Trouser trout", "JJ", "the dog whisperer".
