I always thought that as far as road signs to London were concerned, everything was measured from Charing Cross Station. That said, various mapping sites have a different view of what the centre of London is. Simply type "London", then zoom in and...

- Google Maps says Parliament Square
- Map24 says Whitehall (admittedly close to Charing Cross)
- Streetmap says Charing Cross (hooray!)

Any very cheap fun things to do in London (and North West (Colindale Tube)? I'm going there in late September for 2 weeks to visit the ol' ball and chain. I visualised London in a great way...being clean everywhere, posh streets and so on..but i often see rubbish simply thrown on roads and pavements and a lot of scratches on windows of tube trains and london buses.why is that? shock!!!

I am getting a flight to heathrow from glasgow but need to get nearer tonbridge as I dont want my mate to have to drive all the way I want to do this the cheapest way possible. I got a paper in the mail a while back saying I won some money but had to call to the Uk to claim it. I ignored it and they sent another. (I know for sure this was not from the internet)I got a calling card and called the number and they said I did win and theyll send a check within 5 to 10 days. They said they draw winners once a year Everyone believes this is a scam...anyone ever hear of it? The main workers' names are Jane Combs and Tony Adams

thank you guys :( .... how the hel did they get my address? and i called and they said i didnt have to pay anything but they will take 4thousand from the winnings for tax...im not doubting anyone's answers by any means I believe you guys but I wanna know what they are doing. Whats their plan because they never asked me for money and when I called the number they still said I dont have to pay anything and that I should be accepting a cheque. Basically what Im asking is how do they work?what are their goals
