Basketball - December 2007

Yes, it's another Kobe post, but I offer this challenge up for the labelers to explain their logic.

Kobe Bryant is a shooting guard. Let's look at the league leaders in assists at shooting guard:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/stats/byposition?pos=SG&sort=27&qualified=0&conference=NBA&year=season_2007

I want someone to explain to me how a SHOOTING guard can have more assists than anyone at his position year after year and still be known as selfish.

Assuming we all agree that Michael Jordan is one of the greatest stars to ever play in the NBA, if not the greatest. Will there ever be another player to attribute everything Jordan did? Kobe's great, but his off court antics leave something to be desired. Lebron is awesome at such a young age, but the Championship Series choke left some wondering. And there are many other great players (KG, Melo, Iverson, ect.), but does anyone have what it takes to top Mike?

Personally I think MJ as in Magic Johnson, to be the greatest ever.

I always thought Jordan was great... one of the best ever in fact. I just never thought he was the greatest! I know people would like to continue living in the Jordan dream world, believing everything "All Powerful ESPN" told us, but basketball didn't start in the 90's, the leagues over 60 years old! People need to realize there are so many other great players, like Magic, Kareem, Jerry West, Wilt. Russell, I could go on and on.

What do you think? Do people think basketball started in the 90's? Why are poeple today so oblivious?

I told yall the Phoenix Suns was goin to win and the Phoenix Suns defense was impressive. I jus laugh everytime people doubt the Phoenix Suns its funny because I know there a great team. Phoenix Suns would beat the Utah Jazz 4-2 if they ever meet in the playoffs.

What yall think?

He can do it all--score, rebound, assist. That creates a bit of a challenge to who he'd mesh well with on the court.

I think he is also a hypocrite because of last year's warriors vs. Dallas series. He said Dallas would take it no doubt in the beginning, but in the end, he was wearing an "I Believe" t shirt. Don't get me wrong i think the warriors are a fine team, but Charles Barkley is such an annoying analyst on TNT. It makes you wonder if he even knows what basketball is, maybe that fight with Shaq destroyed some brain cells.

I've noticed that many Lakers fans on these forums give the stupidest answers ever. They think the Lakers will get the 2nd or 3rd seed, and they put down any other team that's not the Lakers. I've seen some respectable answers from a few Lakers fans, mainly the mature ones. But the rest seem to be Lakers fans with no knowledge of basketball, and all they do is talk trash on other teams. Anyone else know what I mean?
