Shawn Marion is a perfect example of defensive player of the year. He gets rebounds, steals, and blocks. But he being over looked. To me Shawn Marion is underrated. After seeing what he jus did tonight he dominated on the defensive end all night long. I jus hope Shawn Marion wins the defensive player of the year award.

Shawn Marion is far from underrated. Josh Smith does everything you say but better, so your point about him scoring, playing defense, getting blocks and steals is not really that great. There are definitely more players ahead of Marion in the defensive category Tim Duncan, Marcus Camby, Bruce Bowen, Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, etc........

Hell yes he is! People think oh his scoring is down but his blocks are up! He is the best all around player in the NBA right now! Lets see Lebron grab as many boards or block as many shots

defense is MUCH more than steals rebounds and blocks.

yes he should win defensive player of the year but there are many better defenders than him
