The best ever is used very careless! To me and to many the best ever can mean offensive and defensive!
I know u said best ever but I put it in the sense of position.
Offensive
PG Oscar Robertson
SG M.Jordan
SF Elgin Baylor/Larry Bird
PFKarl Malone
CWilt-the-Stilt
Defensive
PG Magic Johnson
SG M.Jordan
SF Elgin Baylor/Larry Bird/D.Wilkins......
PFTim Duncan.........
C Bill Russell/Wilt/Kareem/Shaq......

Michael Jordan, I don't think there's ever been such a good player to attribute everything he has (on and off the court) to basketball. He's a legend and great role model.

magic Johnson. He was able to see the floor like no one before him and no one since. He was able to distribute the ball, play defense, and he was able to play center for his team when kareem was injured. No other point guard, guard, or forward has ever done this and his team one the nba championship when he played center.

Magic wasn't a great defender, either.
