Well you know how 1-9, as in numbers not age, are called single digits, 13-19 are called teens , not as in age, and numbers like 21, 22, 23 are known as twenties, then what are the numbers 10-12 called? I was just wondering !
I hope I phrased it right to make it clear.

I'm really bad at mathematics, and I really need help . . . so please help me. Well, first of all, I guess I could say I'm bad with algebra, or just variables. Like the following question.
- If the three digit numbers x and y are each composed of three distinct non-zero digits, what is the greatest possible value of x - y?

Please explain how to do the above problem, and the following one!
- In the addition problem below, if the letters A, B, and C represent different digits, what does each one equal?

AA + AB = CCC

Please help, and thanks ahead of time! (I really want to be as smart as all of you!)

Boston and New York are approximately 280 miles apart. One Train leaves Boston traveling towards New York at an average speed of 80mph. Another train leaves New York at the same time traveling toward Boston at an average speed of 60 mph. (a) How long will it take them to meet? (b) How far has each train traveled when they meet?

I tried using d= rt but that didn't make much sense since I did
t = d/r which 280/80 = 3.5hours and 280/60 = 4.6 hours but the textbook says two. I'm a so confused. I need help with explanations!!
