On Earth, you can only travel so far north and then you're going south again (and vice versa). But you can go east forever and ever and you're still going east; and the same is true of west. Why is that?

Everything in God's creation serves a purpose. Each flash of lightning replenishes the O-zone layer, rain nourishes and shapes the earth. What higher purpose does thunder serve?

I have had the thought that maybe cutting down the rain forests and the fact that the ice is melting maybe are related. The earth needs more trees so it is making more land available. Or it needs more carbon dioxide so it is releasing some. I do believe the earth will fix itself whether we survive will be our choice. I hope we choose well. Who knows the earth is millions of years old have we been to this point before. If so we must have failed. What do you think?

1 gallon, 1000 gallons, ect. Water would be at say room temperature to start.

It is safe to say it would boil 1 gallon of water or even 10 gallons but what about 100 gallons? How much potential energy is in a single bolt?

My question is this. In your book, you theoretically explain the beginning of the universe, the cause and effect, et al. As you will agree, all things have a beginning. Thus, I am interested in knowing your theories of what took place before your explanation of the beginning. Despite what one's beliefs are, big bang, etc., what was the prelude to that? What was the cause of space? How did space begin? In this vast universe that you have written so much about, what began that?

For hundreds of millions of years, the earth has being going in and out of ice ages. At one point, maybe 300 million years ago there was an event called "Ice ball earth" in which the entire earth was covered by ice. There have been 100 theories to explain ice ages, but none have been proven to be correct.

Therefore, while I believe global warming should be studied and monitored, I fail to see how we can be certain that this warming is not part of the earth's natural cycle of going in and out of ice ages.

At present, the normal state of the earth is in an ice age. The dates very, but we generally we spend 100,000 years in an ice age and then pop out into a warming period of 10,000 to 20,000 years that we are in now.

I use the analogy of the mayfly that only lives one day above ground to breed. One may mayfly says to another: "The day is getting warmer and warmer. The end is near." After it is eaten by a toad, the toad says, "The earth heats and cools every 24 hrs."

Many regions on earth have very different climates today compared to prehistoric times. How can some areas have been much warmer than they are today? Did the earth's axis change and thereby change the relationship of the areas on earth to the sun?
