In marine systems, the ecological pyramid is often inverted, i.e. there is less biomass of the first trophic level (phytoplankton) than on the second one (zooplankton, small fish, etc). How is that possible if primary producers maintain the rest of the ecosystem?

I've done the first three labs and what did I get on them...

70, 75 and 79...I had straight A+s on all my labs last year in Honors Biology I and no one, not even myself can believe how bad I'm doing in AP Bio...I got a B the first quarter (Straight As and A+s and a B don't match on a report card:-( )

The one that I got a 79 on I had help from one of my college professor friends so I wanted to cry when I saw that grade...no one gets a B+ at least.

So can anyone help me with the rest of the AP Biology II labs...like someone who knows the definite answers and possibly got an A on them! THANKS SOOO MUCH

Ok let me know how this sounds to you, Christian or atheist. It seems that so many people are believing that we came from monkeys. Period. You believe in evolution. Thats fine and all, but that means every organism on the face of this earth is the descendant of one single solitary single cell organism. Every plant, animal, and fungus, etc came from the same cell according to your own logic. And furthermore where did the earth come from? Where did the dirt and the water and our lush atmosphere come from? You say "big bang" I say, well why Earth? Why did all this water and lush forest and all form on Earth but a harsh hostile environment on Venus? Does it not seem like way too many coincidences to be here by chance? Let me know what you think.

ok ok...so this is the deal, the teacher gave us an experiment to do:
1)You have to peel and cut a potato in half,
2) dig a hole/cavity through it,
3)put it in a dish with water around it...and make a STRONG sugar solution and put it in the hole and
4)wait for 30 mins and see what happened.....

Well 1/3 of my class said the sugar solution in their cavity rose and had more solution in it..

The other 1/3 said that the sugar dissolved then the sugar solution in the potato decreased...

And the other 1/3..............NOTHING.... the potato turned purple!

What was suppose to happen and how is osmosis present there?

I have orange wavy hair and brown eyes. She has brown curly hair and brown eyes.

So I figure that our baby would have brown eyes. I know that dark dominates over red. but my father had BLONDE hair and my mother had dark brown. And i came out with orange.

So what is it most likley, that a baby would come out, between an orange haired person and a darker brown haired person?
