The AP plans to lodge a protest with the American military.
Afghan witnesses and gunshot victims said U.S. forces fired on civilians in cars and on foot along at least a six-mile stretch of road in Nangarhar province following a suicide attack against the Marine convoy. The U.S. military said militants also fired on American forces during the attack.

I've always been skepticle as to what info US people get from their press. Just curious if the US has "Freedom of the Press: Or as Senator Calhoun put it "The first victim of war is truth".

Read his book. Wondering! He sounds like a televangelist; NOT God!!!!!! HEALTH!!! Really good idea. ANYBODY with positive results??? Everything I read called for drastic change.....perhaps that is what wwe must do. I also think there's a bunch too much regulation, but I' m not sure I can give up bacon/ham or catfish!!!

Rosie O was given crap for her asian slur, and Michael Richards will probably never work again for what he said about those african american hecklers. we need to have an open mind about what is going on in the world, we cant believe everything we see on television and the newspaper. We need to be skeptical and have our own assumptions about the war in iraq, 9/11, oil companies, bush, and everything going on now. why are people so ignorant and close minded? why do they believe everything that they're told?

The U.S. mainstream print and television media have done everything in their power to black out, ignore and silence the important revelations about 9/11. There has been no in-depth reporting, just mindless and uncritical parroting of the Bush Administration's press releases. NBC, ABC, FOX, MSNBC, CNN, Time, Newsweek, the NYT, etc., have done a tremendous disservice to the American people by not reporting on this crime. They have been complicit in helping those responsible get away with it, and worse, have helped them use it to their advantage. No matter what happens, no matter what the outcome of all of this, we should never forgive them for willfully keeping us in ignorance for the last five years.

When im older, i want to become a journalist for a newspaper like the boston globe, or the NY times. OR i would want to be a magazine editior, since i am a good writer. Are both good paying jobs? What do they require? What would i need a degree in for these jobs?

I dont think its about money. They would make more money hitting the soft spots of American culture. If they spoke about sensitive topics that need urgently to be discussed they would make more money. For example, illegal immigration, Jihad supporters in American mosques, not just focusing on white racism all the time but also non-white racists such as "la raza" and the brown berets, the existence of NAMBLA which should be a crime, the buildup of foreign military forces, and a closer look at what politicians are doing and pointing out what they are doing, bad government spending, crazy human rights abuse accusations.

but no, instead we watch what happens to some celebrity or hear about a cat stuck in a tree in iowa.
why is it like this? they could make more money by opening the people's eyes instead of being politically correct all the time.

I read a story on yahoo news today about aryan brotherhood, that's the 3rd story on them in a couple of weeks. Why don't they cover the crips or bloods or some of the dangerous latin gangs like that.

Was Ann Coulter out of line when she used the word "******" to describe a joke about John Edwards, or does she have a point that when anyone says or does anything politically incorrect, that they have to rush off to rehab? (i.e. Isaiah Washington, Patrick Kennedy, Mark Foley)

Even worse (in case of Foley and Kennedy and countless others) is it fair that politicians and celebrities are let off the hook poor their deplorable behavior just because they go to rehab?
