Conservative political commentators like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are often portrayed as right-wing wackos, divisive, and dangerous to a healthy political atmosphere. One can even see this stereotype being advanced in the mainstream media when commentators like Limbaugh and Hannity are called "controversial" and asked to defend their positions by news reporters.

Conversely, liberal commentators like Keith Olberman and Al Franklin are never called "controversial" by the news media, nor are they ever brought onto news shows to defend their positions. Also, while Olberman is just as liberal as O'Reilly is conservative, Olberman is taken as a serious journalist while O'Reilly is often looked upon as a crazed-lunatic by the mainstream media.

Does anyone else see a double-standard like this, or is it just me?

I would appreciate serious replies from intelligent people only. No need to call me a neo-con or a Nazi, etc.

Mr Gates's comments came as a complete shock to me, as though a tonne of bricks had just landed on my head. I mean I had no idea, as I thought it was going swimmingly well. Mr Bush had already said that the operation was 'mission accomplished' and as a result I thought that the last few years was just tidying up. What went wrong? I always thought that I was quite knowledgeable in world affairs, my main source of information being Fox News, obviously I was wrong and the good Christian guys at Fox have obviously been given some incorrect information. I've been shook to my very core by this news, does anyone feel the same?

I was watching Bill Oreilly and he featured a segment in which an 8ish y/o girl was talking about faith and religion negetivly. But he didn't feature the address for reasons of morality. Kinda pissed me off, I understand his reasons but it's still shitty. I would like to see for myself what this girl said.

Anybody know the site?

What are the differences between the reporting of the BBC and CNN International? Which one is known to be more analytical? Do both practice censorship? Do both cut away from unsantized scenes while reporting the news? Do they both show the people they interview? How are they viewed in the U.S. in terms of all the characteristics mentioned above?

P.S. I have watched them both I find BBC to be quite daring in its reporting.

...came back from visiting friends in Spain last Monday, and whilst in London - Streatham, no less - saw a Halal Middle-Eastern restaurant, decorated with fine Christmas tree along with admirable additions throughout the eaterie. Where are the right-wing dears when you need them?
Probably searching London hospitals for Russians with Delhi bellies.

SEAN HANNITY, CO-HOST:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Ad they're monitoring our people to try to prevent the one person from coming up with the one idea. And the one idea is how we are going to exterminate white people. Because that, in my estimation, is the only conclusion I have come to. We have to exterminate white people off of the face of the planet to solve this problem.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HANNITY: That was former North Carolina State University Professor Kamau Kambon. He was speaking at a forum on Hurricane Katrina media coverage at Howard University Law School before his issued his call to exterminate white people.

Kambon also told the panel, "We are at war," and that every white person on earth is a slave master. Mr. Kambon has declined our invitation to appear on the program. He has issued an extensive eight-page statement to the press that includes references to Elijah Mohammed, Mumia Abu Jamal, Napoleon and various historical grievances and urban legends dating back over 1,300 years.
