We are in our late 20s. Already have Scrabble and Boggle. Any new games or DVD games that challenge the mind a bit more than the tube?

My two other friends and I are really interested i using a spirit board to speak with spirits. I have done it enough times to know what I'm doing (as much as anyone can)
But our problem is that when the three of us try to do it toghether it seems as if we don't have enough energy combined to make it work. We usually just use a board and a planchette of some sort. Is there another way that we could be approaching it?

I want to memorize a few openings for chess but I'm finding it hard to devise a method that's best... any ideas? I work with algebraic notation, i.e., 1.e4.e5 2.Nf3 Nf6 etc.

in the game Lost Cities, the rules say that the game ends when one of the players draws the last card from the draw pile, but then it says that you can count points that are left in the draw pile. How can you look at points left in the draw pile if one of the players just took the last card???

can you get extremely good just through practice, or does it take keen study of chess theory to get that good? By that good, i mean pro level?
