If you didn't have a dad (for whatever reason) then advice from a "fatherly figure" (like a teacher, a relative, or a friend), or even your mom giving you advice would be sufficient. I was just thinking about expressions like, "Mother knows best" & "Father knows how to fix that," & both usually followed by something along the lines of: "Why don't you go talk with him/her about it right now." So what was the best piece of advice coming from your "dad" that you can remember him saying? And do you still believe it to be true? Have you used it yourself with your kids? Share a brief story with any pertinent circumstances you care to share to help explain why.
