Why is close, (the opposite of open), pronounced so that the "s" sounds like a "z", and close (the opposite of far) is pronounced so that the "s" sounds like, well an "s"?

Why didnt they just spell one with a Z?

I think I'd pick Austrailians because I've got a "thing" for the accent. Plus, with one exception, I've never met a mean Aussie man.

ok i really dont feel loved because

1) some ****** reported 3 of my Q's and i lost 30 points

2) whenever i ask questions yahoo never posts them up so no1 can see them or answer them...and i've lost 15 points for that!!!

so i've lost freakin 45 points and i dont really feel loved?!
