If you drop a knife on the floor you will have a gentleman caller, a spoon means a lady. Also my mom always said a bird in the house means a death in the family. I believe this last one because a bird flew into the building where I work. The boy who caught the bird and took it outside was dead within a few days of an auto accident.

if 3 people take a picture together the 1 in the middle dies first. shoes on the table is bad luck. penny tails up bad luck. broken mirror 7 years bad luck unless you bury it. have to hold your breath past cemetery or spirits will enter you. bad luck to leave the house from a different door than you entered.

Don't walk under a ladder. Don't let a black cat cross in front of your path. Break a mirror and have 7 years bad luck. Holding hands and a pole comes between you say bread and butter.
