I'm hoping my future is brighter than what it is now. This time next year I will be done with school, living in a new state, and hopefully working in the field that I'm going to school for. Right now I feel like I'm going through the storm and I'm just waiting for the sun to peek through to prove that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Depends how far in the future your talking. The next few years wll be quite similar, then the ice caps will melt and the world will start to floor, ozone layer completely detroyed...the land will be like a nightmare. In about 5.5b years, the sun will die out and if human life lived to then, we would die in a matter of hours.
The future sounds bright to me!
