I mean if you;ve seen a film, read a book or listened to a CD, do you really need it to win awards to know whether it is any good? Personally I can make my own mind up and think these award shows are just an excuse for people to buy expensive outfits and enjoy the free drinks.

Footballers are the most overpaid people in the world. They kick a ball about and get stupid amounts of money for being stupid. They don't deserve it. Doctors, nurses and teachers etc the undervalued members of society deserve that money. I don't see the appeal of football anyway. It is just a commercialised mess, its not a sport anymore. The days of true sportsmen like Sir Tom Finney are long since past . As an Englishman I am ashamed at our links to football.

This was a radio show in the 1980's and featured most of the cast from Dad's Army. It was a brilliant 6 part (I think) series. Would love to hear it again.

I did the catipult last night at the Tampa State Fair. It was awesome. Launched me 300 ft up in the air and on the way down I was upside down. It was cool.

The art in question is music and I've been recording and playing it for over 10 years. Yet, getting people to come to shows or even show the slightest bit of interest gets harder and harder as the years go by. Maybe I'm not very good. I don't know. I think I'm pretty good. One would think after 10 years you'd get to be fairly proficient at your craft. Still, after all this time, the indifference shown to me hits my like a brick in the face after each show and after each release. It's really hard to do something time and time again with no appreciation. Music makes me happy, but it also makes me very sad. The whole "you should just be happy with it because you're doing what you love" mentality only works for a while. I'm passed that. That's not good enough. That's like having your mother tell you're a handsome man. It's not the same as validation from your peers. Should I just quit?
