I dont kno either why it is worshipped by many. i agree to the fact that they get paid too much. it is true just for kicking a rubber ball about seriously it is a pile of crap a number of men running about after a rubber ball trying to get it into the other teams net. how boring. ud get more excitement from watching paint dry.

I know how you feel i gave up my season ticket 3 years ago and have never regretted it. We pay a lot of money to go to football matches for tickets, petrol, food and numerous other things. When we get there we are either ecstatic that we (our team) has won, angry at the referee when a decision goes against us or depressed when we lose. The fact is though we have almost no control over any of it! We can create a postive atmosphere but it really is out of our hands otherwise so why do we get so worked up about it? I don't anymore, watching England play is a waste of my time and energy and I have better things to spend my money on and do on a Saturday afternoon.

not anymore i don't. it's all driven by greed and players earning something like over £50,000 or more a week for putting the ball in the back of the net, which is absolutely insane. football is no longer a sport- be it, it is rather a business and as a business it brings in more money. which is sad. football is supposed to be about sport- about taking part and having fun. but unfortunately because of footballers like (c)ashley cole and david beckham, it's hardly any wonder that the game is getting so much flak and criticism from other people, as most of it is legitimate and to a certain extent, deserved as well

I completely agree with you, I think it is disgraceful for footballers to be paid so much money in a week that some of don't earn in a decade for just kicking a ball around. Yet the public who go to see these games are bigger fools for spending an average of £ 30 a time and not to mention the distances they travel to watch their 'heros'. Perhaps we should stop being influenced by adverts which generate unnecessary wants and greed. Power to the sensible people!

It's a business. Anything that people use to marginally enjoy or anything that was free now gets taken over for money. I use to go football, then i use to watch it in the pub now i watch it at home on the computer. Wierd eh! Were all being squeezed for money.

they are a waste of time and money!
too much money goes into this buisness, think of the difference all the money wasted on football players wages could do to help society and the environment!
i totally agree with you.
