i have a small practice amp for my Fender guitar-and there is a buzzing noise almost all the time. The band i am in doesn't have the money to get a new one, and we have been trying different things to get rid of the noise----any profesional tips outside of getting a new amp?

A bad capacitor in the power supply is the most likely, but it could be coming from a number of things including an outside source... Make sure that the "ground" connection inside the amp is not loose, it could also be the guitar. Does it still hum when another guitar is used? If so the ground on the guitar is bad.

sounds like you have a "60 cycle" hum. Most likely caused by a blown capacitor in the power supply. Open the power supply and see if anything bulges , then get a new one at radio shack (capacitors are only about a buck)
