I was thinking of helping my friend who loves old hymns by scanning in songs from old hymn books and turning them into text files so he can do a word search on them.

But we do not know how long the copy rights last on these songs.
Can you help? Thanks.

However weird it may seem, I just found out there are Christian rock bands. I would like to listen to one, but I don't know any. So, I turn to you to help me find it.
You would be of great help if you also give me a good song and a lyrics site for those bands.

NOT wedding music!
Please, no "Butterfly kisses", no "Daddy's hands", no "I loved her first", NO CHEESE, no country/oldies/Christian/etc... I am looking for songs like "Heaven" by Live ("I don't need no one to tell me about heaven/I look at my daughter and I believe...")

I have found every list where ten people suggest "Butterfly Kisses" or Stevie Wonder. Please, no more :)

I am looking to make an upbeat driving CD for my husband. Artists already included: Scissor Sisters, The Killers, Live, James Morrison... Any suggestions in this area would be really, really helpful.

Thanks!

Hi. I am trying to figure out the name of the song that Kenny is playing at the abandonded building before the Rock Steady Crew come in.

I know there is a song that goes "e ya ja ya yo-yo iya ja iya ja"....and that song is called "Renegades Chant". But before this song starts playing, there is an instrumental song that plays. What is that song called? It does not play for long but it is a fresh track.

The song is not "Us Girls". Also, it is not on the Beat Street soundtrack (vol. 1 or 2). Actually, there are a number of songs in that movie that are not on the soundtrack.

If ya know the name of this track, please let me know.

spanning their entire career? i say radiohead hands down...but oasis were legit rock gods in the mid-late 90s...they just haven't written anything good in ten years. Radiohead changed music more, and are far more creative, intelligent and have more integrity for their art.

I recieved a Lyon electric guitar for Christmas and I'm teaching myself how to play. I have a hard time positioning my fingers on the neck to play the chords. Is there any exercises that I could use to help me "limber" up my fingers to make it easier to play the chords? Also what are some good books for beginners to work with...would like something with pictures showing finger placement as that is easier for me. Thanks and Happy New Year!

In todays society, with a consumer culture and also massive media resources such as TV and the internet, has the value of music been cheapened or lessened? We now have hundreds of music genres and music channels on TV such as MTV and also cheap musical instruments and the internet (with sites like YouTube).

I've said for a long time that there is too much music around and so even a talented artist or band like New Order is seen as a product, both by record companies and also the public. The artsit then has their own mage and the merchandise that follows.

This isn't a homework assignment, just my own personal question! Anything appreciated.

Anyone who can tell me who this song was by. I heard a Lea Salonga version and a NINA cover version. I'm looking for the original song...it has a jazzy feel and was sung by a man I believe.
