My religion requires the end of the day to be 'at' or 'after' sundown. God separated light and darkness and called the 'light' day and the 'darkness' night. Interestingly, that was on the first day of creation and the sun wasn't created until day 4. (I personally think this original light is so incredibly white (opposite of darkness) and bright that normal man would not be able to see it without being blinded, just a theory though) Nevertheless, the sun is what causes daylight and this is what we must use to determine when a day ends. The sages have debated this greatly. Some say the end of the day is when the orb of the sun touches the horizon, some say it ends when the sun's orb goes just below the horizon, and others including me believe it is when the last ray of sunshine has departed from the horizon. This is very important on the Sabbath day so people can know when they can start working again in case they have to do some things that night. What do you all think?
