Absolutely. I love going to concerts and attending workshops. I enjoy the brilliance of the compositions, the performer's excellent execution of the piece and the atmosphere of listening to it in a concert hall.
I like romantic artists such as the impressionists Debussy and early twentieth century composers such as Prokofiev.
Classical music has a calming effort after a stress and is often used as a therapy.

as every music genre it depends on my mood
i like some classical music: good interprets, big composers and so on.
Sometimes I use classical music to put me to sleep because its relaxing. On contrary rock music keeps me awake.
I like the radio hours that mix classical with other related genres. I don't like the exaggerate praises that you can hear on radio after some interpretations.
I like music in general and classical makes a part of the big picture.
Sometimes I remember with pleasure classical partitures from movies: Mozart opera in "Amadeus" or Wagner in "The new world"

I adore classical music, but can not stand watching it. Watching a chamber group or orchestra has never enhanced my appreciation of it...I love to listen.
Listen to "The Rite of Spring" Stravinsky
"New World Symphony" Dvorak
Symphony #5 Tchaikovsky
...and of course, "Rhapsody in Blue" by George Gershwin (probably, my favourite piece of music ever)
BUT... don't think that I'm a classical snob! My music of choice is still Springsteen, Costello, Rush, R.E.M.,et al...
As I remember Steve Earle (...another favourite...) saying, "there are only two kinds of music...good and bad..."
...try those, let me know what you think...

Yes! I actually have tickets to see Joshua Bell next week. It can give me goosebumps. Listening to classical music is like being taken on a ride. It doesn't "go in circles" like other music. Hope that makes sense.

Robert Casadesus's rendition of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata is excellent. I've also been a huge fan of Aaron Copland's work, especially the American heritage music he composed. Still, nothing beats Wellington's Victory.

Yes. I t mellows me at times and I just can drift away with the music. Then there are those classical pieces that just overwhelm you with feelings of excitement.
