Entertainment & Music - 21 March 2007

I don't watch TV, i just download or rent entire series and watch them from start to finish, but I can't find a new series to watch... can anyone suggest a good one?

Here are some series I liked:

Arrested Development
Six Feet Under
Big Love
Dead like Me
Scrubs
Weeds

TV shows i didn't like:

Sapranos (to much violence)
the OC (just crap)
Lost (could probably get into it, but ep.1 was a little gory)
Heroes (crap)
CSI, SVU, any other crimescene lawcase doowacky

What medium has the most impact on your desire to see a movie?

I manage a movie theatre and one of the issues that's always coming up is promoting movies. From my perspective, I don't see much value in other forms of advertising besides running the previews and displaying the posters (and other theatre advertising materials). I mean the various media stunts you see for movie can be cool, but do they really drive people to theatres. Also, when it comes to cross promotions with places like McDonalds, I see a bigger upside for the partner than for the movie theatres.

I'm just curious to hear any thoughts on what has the most impact on your desire to see a movie and if any of the extra stuff makes any difference.

Does anyone know how "real" the quiz show Cash Cab is?

It always appears to be a little bit staged ie the contestants always seem fairly dressed up and less shocked that they're on tv than they should be.And also do they really make them walk if they loose all 3 lives or do the production team who must follow in a car, give them a lift?Trivial questions i know but it is a fab little quiz.Would be very interested to hear from someone whose been a contestant
