The DVD movie ,JOYEAUX NOEL,tells the true story of the christmas truce between enlisted men on the Ypres salient.

Only....the story has been hijacked by the french..who werent there!

Of course the French and Belgians manned their own positions along stretches of the hundreds of miles of trenchline.
But they werent in the Ypres salient where the famous event took place and they were not involved.

Was the director trying to give the movie an artistic aura,aiming at the psuedo intellectual audience?

I suppose we had muslim officers leading us over the top too!
